You can be sure you'll accomplish two concrete
goals at the Aaron Fisher Seminar.
Goal 1 First, at this seminar you will
learn several pieces of easy, powerful card magic. This magic works
all but automatically. To a great extent, you won't even control the
cards during these tricks; the magic will take place in the hands of
your spectator. These tricks come from Aaron's professional
repertoire. He's tested these effects in front of real audiences
hundreds of times. He knows that anything can happen during a live
performance and he'll show you how to handle every situation. After
working with Aaron, you'll own these effects.
|
Remember, most participants will need
to learn NO new techniques to use
these effects. You'll perform these tricks within 24
hours. |
Goal 2
Here comes the exciting part. You'll learn about design. No matter
what your skill level, get ready to change the way you look at card
magic. You see, many of us evaluate techniques based on difficulty.
If a move seems hard, we don't learn it. If it seems easy, we do. Of
course, some of us go the other way. We won't even consider a
technique unless it looks like a dragon. No matter which side we
come from, we lose when we approach card magic this way.
Why not judge a sleight on factors which really evaluate its
effectiveness?
When we look at a new technique we should ask several questions.
What does
it do? What purpose will it serve? What simple physical principle
makes it work? And these mechanical questions just scratch the
surface.

More important
questions concern how the technique relates to the audience.
How long does this move take to execute? Is the audience meant to
watch the deck while I do this move, or must they look the other
way? How many beats are in this move? What is a beat anyway? How
much strength does this technique really require? Are my hands
strong enough? Can this technique be done under fire? What is fire
anyway? Does this technique allay suspicion, or draw it? The answers
to all these questions lie in the area of design. Our magic books
don't teach us to ask these questions. They don't give us the tools
we need to answer them.
|
When we learn to ask the right questions, we
get thrilling results. We learn that popular moves aren't
necessarily good moves. We learn that some moves look good in
the showroom but don't drive well - sometimes they turn out to
be lemons. |
Learning to ask
the right design questions can save us hours of wasted practice.
After all, any time you spend practicing comes at a high premium.
Your time is worth a great deal to you. You should know all the
factors before you decide what techniques to invest in. Often, the
flashy techniques we see the trendy guys tooling around in don't
really provide value.
When you study design, you'll learn to choose economical techniques.
These
moves may not cost very much in terms of time, but they can provide
years of
value and dependable service. Today, many of the artists creating
and selling the techniques and effects you use have not studied
design. They sell you techniques which only look good behind a glass
counter of the magic shop; these techniques often fall apart in the
real world. Design teaches you to know the difference.

After you start
thinking about design, hard moves suddenly become easy. You'll see
that design affects every part of the technique, right down to the
movement of a finger. You'll learn that the mechanical principles
good techniques use are mostly very simple. But they only look
simple once you know design. We learn from design that most of us
make technique more difficult than it has to be. We try too hard. Or
worse, we don't understand what we are trying to accomplish in the
first place. At the seminar, you'll learn techniques from the ground
up. You'll understand 'why' first. You'll see your self accomplish
techniques you may have never thought possible.
You have more skill than you think. At the Aaron Fisher
seminar, you'll learn how to apply it. Come to the seminar, and just
like a good magic show, the magic will happen in your own hands.
